Sources, scope, and corrections
MoveFinePrint publishes practical consumer information about written moving estimates. We separate sourced rules from general document-reading guidance and show the limits of both.
Last reviewed September 28, 2026Primary sources come first
For federal interstate moving rules, we prefer current primary sources from the Electronic Code of Federal Regulations and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). We link readers to the relevant government page so they can check the source directly. Examples and checklists explain documents; they do not replace the governing text.
Interstate scope is labeled
Federal household-goods rules apply to covered interstate moves. Local and intrastate moves may be governed by different state rules. A guide that discusses a federal requirement identifies that interstate scope and does not present it as a universal rule.
Claims stay proportional to the evidence
We describe missing terms, mismatches, conditional charges, and other document signals as questions to resolve. A signal is not proof of fraud, a legal violation, mover quality, or the final price. MoveFinePrint provides general information, not legal advice, and does not guarantee an outcome.
Review dates and updates
Published guides display a review date, and the sitemap carries the corresponding date for search systems. We update a guide when a cited source or material product fact changes. Editorial revisions preserve the page's canonical URL when its subject remains the same.
Corrections
If you find a factual, source, scope, or wording error, email support@movefineprint.com with the page URL and the point to review. We check the current primary source, correct supported errors, and update the page's review date when the change is material.
